What are we free from?
We are free from perfume, fragrance, conventional emulsifiers, sulphates, preservatives, colours/ dyes, mineral oils, and silicones. You will never find the following ingredients in corneotherapy, or in any products we use.
Parabens & Preservatives:
Ranked as the second most common sensitiser, these are designed to eliminate bacteria and prevent mould However, they can also destroy beneficial bacteria essential for maintaining the skin's microbiome and fighting off pathogens. Although more costly, natural alternatives are available.
Colours & Dyes:
These substances can irritate the skin and, arguably, are unnecessary. They may also cause pore blockages, primarily serving as marketing purposes.
Mineral Oils & Silicones:
Non-physiological to the skin, these substances may have occlusive effects, disrupting the skin's natural ability to produce protective substances. They can also lead to pore blockages and interfere with cell communication.
Perfume & fragrance:
Recognised as the primary sensitiser in products. The cheaper the formulation, the more fragrance is needed to cover the odour. Masking of an ingredient's odour is not necessary if pure ingredients are used.
Emulsifiers:
Combines oil and water. When you use a product with an emulsifier, then add water, the water loving head being the great of the two will wash off the skin's natural lipid layers, compromising the skins barrier. Dermaviduals opts for membrane-forming substances like phosphatidylcholine and ceramides as alternatives.
Sulphates:
Foaming agents will impair a cells ability to heal itself & breaks down lipid structure between cells.
