Why microneedling devices are not all the same

Needle quality.
A common issue with other devices is the needles have shards and imperfections that are not set completely vertically, this will cause more damage than if they were straight and sharp. Exceed stands out for its meticulous needle quality. Each needle undergoes an intensive exanimation, magnification, and photographic scrutiny to eliminate imperfections. This process ensures a superior standard compared to mass-produced alternatives.

Needle quantity.
The majority of cheaper devices on the market have 12+ needles, some with up to 42! More needles spread the pressure, making it harder for them to penetrate the skin and rendering them less effective. Exceed uses a 6-needle cartridge equipped with a tilting needle plate that adapts to the surface of the skin to ensure perpendicular needle penetration & minimal epidermal trauma.

Power and performance.
Mass produced devices often don't have much resistance when putting pressure on the needle cartridge spring. Which means light pressure and low power. Why is this an issue? It means the needles will go into the skin easily, but the device does not have the power to retract out as easily, resulting in dragging ano catching. Exceed is corded, which ensures there is consistent power throughout each session, eliminating concerns about inconsistent power levels experienced with battery-operated devices.

Dynamic speed.
The speed of the device is important, Exceed goes up to 150hrtz, that is 150 needle penetrations per second. This speed isn't just a feature; it's a tool for customisation. The device allows practitioners to adjust speed parameters, catering to different facial areas and ensuring optimal client comfort.

Comfort.
If you are needling properly with the correct device, there is no need for anaesthetic numbing cream- there, we said it! Not only is there a risk for anaphylaxis, the skin vasoconstricts, potentially restricting the skin from reaching the inflammation phase - which is the most important part of the treatment. When you apply a numbing cream to the skin, you interfere with the normal signals that the skin sends to dictate which cells should be interacted with. Essentially, this means you end up engaging with the wrong cells.

Safety.
Beyond the standard practice of using single-use disposable cartridges, Exceed raises the bar with a patented back blow safety membrane. This innovative feature prevents backflow of liquids, including blood, ensuring the highest levels of sterility, and eliminating the risk of cross-contamination. It's crucial to address potential issues, such as blood flowing up the cartriage and into the pen, to ensure the effectiveness and safety of the device.
