Guiding you through the adjustment phase

When making the switch from a cosmetic range to a corneotheraputic range like dermaviduals, you may go through an adjustment phase.

WHAT CAN THIS LOOK LIKE?
Dryness, more congestion than usual, flakiness, purging, breakouts or feeling tight.

WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN?!
After years of using products with mineral oils, emulsifiers, silicones, and binding agents, these ingredients will be hanging around in the layers of the epidermal barrier and amongst our skin cells. They are now essentially being pushed out, or 'detoxed' out of the skin.

WHY IS THIS A GOOD THING?
It's a GREAT thing, you are not going backwards, do not give up! As corneotherapists our job is to assist your skin in achieving its ideal state of balance, known as homeostasis.

WHAT IS HOMEOSTASIS?
Homeostasis of the skin is where everything is functioning as it should. Unfortunately, with how many disruptive products and treatments there are on offer today, our state of balance is being constantly impacted. Our skin isn't striving, it's just surviving, and this can go on for years.

HOW WILL BALANCE BE RESTORED?
By promoting a healthy turnover of skin cells and supporting the natural keratinocyte lifecycle with physiological skincare formulated to penetrate beneath the skins surface.

HOW LONG WILL I GO THROUGH THIS PHASE?
It may not occur for every skin, and for some, it could last weeks or even months. Each skin is different, and it will always depend on your history, and your skins state. Your skin is relearning how to look after itself.
