The gut impact- studies show negative thoughts can reduce your secretory IgA- which is the protective lining of defence in your gut. This can mean gut infections and more pathogens being able to pass through the gut lining and into the system and bloodstream. This alters the function of the immune system by increasing inflammation.
The stress hormone impact- if your stress hormone cortisol remains elevated for prolonged periods, it can lead to increased inflammation in both the body and skin, and suppress your immune system. This suppression can slow the healing process of skin conditions. High levels of cortisol can also cause the sebaceous glands to produce more sebum (oil).
SLEEP- prioritise how important this is
MEDITATE- start slow, 5/10 minutes a day for 21 days is shown to lower stress levels
STRESS MANAGEMENT- we must put ourselves first. Say no, schedule self care, reduce phone time first thing in the morning, have a rest day from the gym.
DIET- your body is your home, take care of it. Plan nutritious meals and cut down on ultra processed foods
